The Department of Anesthesiology and Division of Cardiac Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship-trained Anesthesiologist to join our Comprehensive Cardiac Center faculty. We welcome recent fellowship graduates and H1B visa candidates. - Join a collegial team of five cardiac and two dually trained cardiac/critical care Anesthesiologist faculty
- Participate in a collaborative call schedule with equitable distribution across the team
- Provide cardiac surgical services at a single site, in a tertiary/quaternary academic medical campus setting, with medically directed services in both OR and out-of-OR locations
- Collaborate with peers at a tertiary referral center for cardiac surgery with a case mix including heart and lung transplantation, durable ventricular assist devices, complex aortic reconstruction, CABG, and valve replacement/repair, and ECMO
- Work with one of the largest ECMO programs in the Midwest, with the capability to run over 12 patients simultaneously, around-the-clock access to specialized nurses and perfusionists, and a multi-specialty “Shock Team” to assess VA and VV ECMO consults

Our Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship Program provides trainees with extensive experience in the perioperative care of patients undergoing all types of contemporary cardiac surgical procedures. These include coronary artery bypass (on and off cardiopulmonary bypass), valve replacement and repair (including transcutaneous aortic valve replacement and mitral valve repair; MitraClip), aortic and left ventricular aneurysm resection and repair, complex aortic surgery including aortic dissection, aortic arch replacement, and hypothermic circulatory arrest, temporary (e.g., VV and VA ECMO, ProtekDuo) and durable ventricular assist devices, total artificial heart implantation, and heart and lung transplantation.
